How to build a standard report on a customized dataset? Is it possible in sfdc?

Do you mean you created a custom object and now you want to build a custom report of the data? If so, when you create the object, there's a checkbox to "Allow Reports" - once you check that, you can go to the Reports tab and create a custom report off that custom object.

Thanks for your reply. I want to query the schema and then to generate reports with dataset resulted for the query i.e. I want to use custom reports provided by Salesforce but with my dataset which is result of my SOQL.
