Opportunity Line Item - Quantity as Zero

There is a need to add Opportunity line Items with Quantity as ZERO.

 

Salesforce throws an error "Error: Must be nonzero." in case the Quantity is specified as Zero at the opportunity line item.

 

Is there a way by which this check can be removed or is there a way to overcome this check.

In my opinion, It is a standard salesforce functionality and can not be changed. You need to enter a non zero value in the quantity field as it calculates Total Price.

I was searching for a way to disconnect the Oppty Total from the Line time and I found this help topic that I attached below.  I know it is like four years later...but here is the answer to your question at least!
