SMS from SF to Mobile

I need to send a SMS to the mobile number which is stored in Contact record(This should be done automatically after creating the Contact), Is it possible in Apex Trigger ?

Please give your suggestion!

Ganu,
There are probably many ways to do this but the setup I would use is to use a Workflow Rules to check when a Contact is added to send an Outbound Message to an SMS gateway. This shouldn't be too hard to do but SMS messages do cost money.

The other option is to enter their mobile email address (such as for AT&T it's 5551112222@cingularme.com) as an email field. (More can be found here http://www.accutracking.com/sms-email.html) Then you could use an Email Template to do this as well.

Hi Middleton,
Thank you for your reply,
Can you please post a sample workflow to further proceed on SMS,

Check out this package that I created and see if it helps you to understand what I mean. You will probably need to add a couple Mobile Providers into the SMS Gateways tab.

Hello Ganu,

This is completely possible with the help of 360 SMS App. In this app, process builders are used well to create any kind of automation processes. As soon as a contact will be created, an automated text would be sent to the respective person.

For more detailed information, you can try a free version their app with the help of this link: (https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3000000DpSyIEAV)
