sri123 I created new "Edit" CommandLink in list view..
When i click on Edit , I would like to change the field contents of Student__c.
Can u help me the code for this....

What is your actual reqyuirement? Do you want the selected records fields to be changed with some fixed value - if yes then you can use a javascript code snippet and couple it with a trigger.
In case you want to give the user the control then also you can implement your requirement with javascript code snippet but then redirect user with the selected id and related field prepopulated to a custom VF page.
