Salesforce Content: Link to Internal Server?

My organization is excited to start using Content, but I'm concerned about hitting storage limits really quickly.  I'd like to be able to use the "Do you want to link to a website" function to point to an internal server rather than an external website.  Is this possible?

I'm also interested in doing the same thing.  Anyone have more info about this?

I discussed this with my sales engineer and he did some checking for me.  Apparently linking to an internal server isn't going to work.  The full text search requires that the document be stored in SF to work correctly (either uploaded by you or downloaded from the link you provide).  Content can't search records stored on our internal file servers, behind our firewalls, which makes sense.

He did tell me that they compress the items stored in Content, so storage limits shouldn't be as big a concern as I originally thought (plus file storage isn't terribly expensive from SFDC if we do eventually go over).
