Import and Mass Update of Related Object Fields

I have a contact list (Excel) to import that has organization affiliations and donation hiatory in the spreadsheet cells.  When importing contacts, related object fields are not available to be picked as import destinations.  Is there a way of automatically importing these data, or do they need to be entered manually.

What you can do is:

 

1) Import the contacts

2) Use the Contact IDs returned by the dataloader to correlate the contacts and related objects (in Excel via VLOOKUP)

3) Import the related objects with the contacts id's

If you are not importing many thousands of records you can use the import wizard instaed which will map your records to contacts based on contact name directly.
