Printable View

Does anyone know how the "printable view" button works on the reports.  This sends data direct to a file from salesforce.com.  I would like to create a similar button that sends data from a web link.

Best way to do this is to use the "Vew Source" feature of your browser , while you are on the report page, take a look at the page, look for a form, and find out what the printable view does to the form.

with this info, you can then construct a URL which will perform the "printable view" from a link or custom link on a detail page.
