can we change the text field into Master-detailed field?

 

 

 

Hi, I create a new field for custome object. Initially data type for that field is Text. But now i would like to change that field into Master-Detailed Field. But here i could n't find any master-detailed relation data type?

 

Without re-creating that field ........can we change the text field into Master-detailed field?

That doesn't really make any sense.  A text field stores a piece of text; a master-detail is a required link to a parent object.  So no, you can't change a text field to a master-detail.

 

Perhaps what you're actually looking for is a picklist?
