Workflow and Approval Process Limits
Hello,
Can anyone give me the total number of workflows and approval processes an org in Enterprise Edition can have? How many active & inactive and does the limit apply to workflows and approvals in total or x amount for workflows and x amount for approvals?

There are several relevant limits in play:
1000 total rules per organization (workflow, assignment, auto-response, and escalation combined).
50 active rules per entity (same as above).
So, this means that you can only have 1,000 total rules in place throughout your entire organization, and that those rules are furthermore lumped into one massive category of limits. For example, on cases, if you have 8 escalation rules active, plus an auto-responder, and an assignment rule, you could only have 40 more workflow rules active for cases.
There are additional restrictions on how many rule entries/filters/etc you can have per rule. Please check the Help & Training window for additional information.
