Self Service Portal is a secure environment where you need a username and password to log in. From there, you can view any cases associated with your self service user, log new cases, or view Solutions associated with the categories you select.
Public Knowledge Base is an unauthenticated portal (you do not need a username and password) which will allow anyone to view Solutions associated with the categories you select. The Knowledge Base will not allow you to access cases.
