Customer Portal: Creating left menu component to display hyperlink list of Ideas Communities

Hi,

 

I would like to create a menu component for the left column of my Customer Portal. The menu should have a list of clickable links to the various Communities.

Create a custom Home Page Component, then associate it to the proper Home Page Layouts that are associated to Customer Portal Profile(s).

I had managed to find the "components" functionality, but what I am after is a way to use them to automate listing of the various categories. Is there a way to programmatically iterate and list the communities links?
