Desktop Application

Ok So this is kind of a dumb question I know. I have done a lot of work with triggers and classes inside of salesforce. I would like to start to build some desktop applications. I know I can use the adobe flash builder but I was wondering if there was a way to use eclipse to do something similar(nothing fancy)?

Hi Danny - you can use eclipse to build Java apps using the salesforce API, or something like Visual Studio if you want to write in .Net... I would recommend using Adobe Air / Flex as this offers a feature rich UI (as do the others I suppose, down to personal preference)

I saw that adobe flash builder, At the moment however I don't have the money to buy a full version. I was wondering if there was a community site or something that could help me get started using one of the alternative methods.
