modifying Appexchange application object

Hi All,

 

I have deployed a application from App exchange that was available for free. Now I need to add lookup filed to one of it's objects. When I tried to add new field to the object, it is not displaying o the screen. Is it possible to add new field to app exchange object? Your help is greatly appreciated.

We can create fields on object which we install from AppExchange. But if you are adding a new field and expecting it to be displayed on the visualforce page which is a part of the application (managed package), then it is not possible.

 

But if you are displaying the field on the page layout then the field will be displayed.

 

If it is still not clear then let me the steps from where you are checking the field, like it is when you click on any native tab or call any visualforce page?

Hi,

 

Thank  you for your response. I noticed that managed package uses visual force page for the "new" tab. That was the reson I could not see the new custom field that I created on the page. I greatly appreciate your help.
