Make URL field clickable

I have a field of type URL and it has a default value of some website URL in it. This field is read only.

When I click on New, I get the default value for the URL field in read only mode, but  I want this URL to be clickable !!

Can we make a read-only URL field clickable in Edit page? While giving the deault value, can we make it HYPERLINK there itself?

I am not using VF page. I want to do this in standard SF page.

Help!

Thanks

Hi ,

You can  In case you make a field clickable in the view mode not in the in edit mode as far as Standard SF pages are concerned want the same to be implemented for edit/add mode you will need to do the same using custom visual force pages.

Did this answer your question? If not, let me know what didn't work, or if so, please mark it solved.

If its read-only field, then it will only show the default value in it and it wont be editable.

Question is : Why would you need to make a field clickable if that field is read-only (user can't change its value).

@Rahul Sharma: When users click on the URL, they should get re-directed to that website.

Basically, I wanna show a link to a website in Edit mode.
