formula for workflow to send email alert

Can any one help....

When status changes or comments post the email has to be sent.

Hi,

 

you can take rule crieteria as status equals closed ,after you can take email alert for specified recepint.

it is very simple to implement but need to be clear that are you talking abot status update on chatter right ? if yes then we can write on Feed item on update event and then write our logic to send email from there.
