I'm the product manager for the new quoting tool that is being released as we speak. Our goal was and is to provide value to our customers fast. While, the current quoting tool's pdf capabilities are not there yet, we know this will be a welcome addition for small and medium sized businesses who currently rely on email, word, or excel and just need to be able to quickly generate a quote in Salesforce. What's more, our quoting tool is free and supported, unlike every other quoting application.
Developing a WYSIWIG editor to configure multiple quote PDFs is next on our list. We hope to have a beta version out shortly. Stay tuned!
Thanks for your response about the WYSIWYG editor.
I need to add simple items like payment terms and payment details to the quote. Also, when building a quote, why is discount set to be a percent and tax set to be currency, it should be the other way around. Setting Tax as a currency field means the sales person has to manually work out the tax and enter the number, if it was a Percent, it would be automatic.
Indeed, we would like to be able to customise the PDF with custom text for things that never change, like quoted payment terms.
Any rough estimates for when the WYSIWYG editor might be ready?, as we cannot use the quotes as it currently stands.
Will the enhancements also include the option to assign different PDF templates to different user groups? We have offices in different regions using different addresses and languages etc.
At this time, you can only customize the logo.
Best,
Sati
What's the usecase for a feature which results in a document sent to our customers, if we cannot customize that document to fit our needs?
Ingo

We also need this sooner than later.
Having an Estimated Date Of Delivery would be nice to quell the uprising. :smileywink:
Is there a date availible? -- This weekend maybe???
We are planning to release a beta quote WSYIWG editor to everyone in the summer release (our next release) - safe harbor and subject to change.
