Any document on the universal notification framework in Salesforce1

Hi all.

 

As noted in this post that talks about notifications in Salesforce1, is there any document about the universal notification framework? I find nothing concerning “send push notifications to individuals and groups using Apex”.

Invoking push notifications with Apex is on the roadmap, but is not currently available in the current release. Currently you can only invoke notifications with @mentions and approval processes. These possibilities are explicitly outlined in the Salesforce1 App Developer Guide (http://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/salesforce1/salesforce1_guide.pdf) starting in Chapter 4 on page 19.
