Submit for Approval using Force.com REST API

Hi Everybody,

 

Is there any standard endpoint in Force.com REST API by which we can submit a particular record for approval process?

Hi, Is there any alternative to this, will it be a good idea having a trigger in DB to submit a record for approval once its status converted to pending .
