How to hide the standard reports in system admin profile users?

Friends,

Salesforce.com provides the standard reports (Sales, activity reports etc..)features. Is it possible to hide the standard reports to the platform system admin profile.

Thanks

Sundar

Salesforce doesnt provide the facility of nested folders , hence you would require to move all the reports in one folderand then do the needful...

Hope this helps..

Hi,

Ideally you cannot hide anything from system admin that is if he/she so desires they can access these reports, but you can create a view in which you show only the desired folders.

Alternatively you can do this:-

  • Put all the reports in a folder say "Custom Reports"
  • Then create a custom tab the url for which will be say for ex. - https://na4.salesforce.com/00O?fcf=00560000000wvA4 where fcf  is the parameter which takes folderid you can mention the id of folder "Custom Reports" here.
  • Remove the Reports tab by customizing the tabs displayed on salesforce home and add your custom tab.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your information. Its better solution to hide the all standard reports to the system admin.  we showing the custom reports folder through the custom tab in this case system admin can create new report?

Yes the user will have access to the "Create new functionality" as the button to create new report is also visible in a folder view. Hope this answers your query.

Ispita,

Already so many custom reports separated by folders. as per your idea is it possible to move all the folders  under one "custom reports" folder?

Thanks
