Outlook inbound & outbound to Salesforce



I was able to use the salesforce-outlook add-in to send an email using my outlook inbox and at the same time logged the activity in salesforce. However, I would also like to log the email when the customer reply to my initial email. Another word, I would like to automatically store the reply email from customer in salesforce.


Is anyone worked in the same case in the past?




It is not possible to do this unless you are working with Cases and specifically email-to-case. Email-to-Case functionality allows you to insert a Case Thread ID in the Subject line and Body of an Email Template. When you send that Template to your customer, from a specific Case, and they reply to that Template Salesforce receives the Email as an Activity on that specific Case. All being said this is only possible with Email-to-Case.


I am afraid you will have to use the Outlook Plugin to add those replies back into Salesforce.


CloudsPlus will automatically copy emails receveied in Outlook (Exchange) into Salesforce contacts or leads.
