Auto Dial from Leads

I am looking for a way to have SFDC automatically place a call thru the CTI Plug in when a user opens a lead record.  This will speed up our call center users by not having to wait for them to click the icon to place the phone call.

 

I have looked around and could not find anything relevant.  Any suggestions are welcomed.

While I'll also promote Refractive Dialer (http://www.refractivedialer.com/dialforce.html), what you want might be something like a Client-Side Javascript file, Greesemonkey script, or whatever you want to call it.  If your CTI adapter creates a "Dial" button then there is a way to trigger that button automaticly via javascript.  You can fire off the javascript either by Apex (standard controller?) or have it already running in the browser.
