Data Loader username and password

I downloaded the data loader but can not sign on.  I am getting an invalid user name/password.  Is this the same as my normal login?

John,   I had the same issue last week but noticed that for the Data Loader password you have to use the regular Salesforce password followed by the Security Token they email you.   I can't seem to figure out how to change it to be the same as the regular SF login (without the Security token added on)----if you do, please post on how to do that.   But, at least the regular login followed immediately by the Security token works (at least for me).   If you don't know your security token, you can request a new one by going to Setup--Personal Information--Reset Security Token.....

If you dont want to use the security token then add your ip to the Network Access.
