Why do I have to login everytime to PRM when I click this sfdc link?

Hi there,

We use the following URL provided as some hyperlinks to login to Partner Portal with a startURL paramater:

https://csx.salesforce.com/secur/login_portal.jsp?orgId=xxxxxxxxxxxxx&portalId=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx&startURL=/apex/myPage

The issue is that if a user is already logged in to the Partner Portal, clicking on the above link still redirects him to the partner Login page wherein everytime he needs to perform the login.

Is there a way to avoid the subsequent login if the user is already logged in?

Thanks

I would assume that you could just direct the user to:

 https://csx.salesforce.com/home/home.jsp

if the user is already logged in. Otherwise he/she will be directed to the real sfdc login.

Hi mpann,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Although that works for most of the cases, the only issue I see with that approach is this. If it is a first time login for a portal user, then when he clicks on the link that has "https://csx.salesforce.com.." instead of "https://cs3.salesforce.com/secur/login_portal.jsp?..." then he is taken to the standard salesforce login page where he is not authorized to login from.  Ideally he should be taken to the portal login page where he is authorized to login.

Thanks
