Campaign field on Lead

Why Campaign field is unavailable in both Lead Detail and Edit pages?

Marko LamotMarko Lamot

Hello,

this field is just for the purpose of faster lead creation: if you want that upon creation, you would like to put the lead immedietally into campaign, you can use this field.  Otherwise you would first need to create lead and that add it to campaign.

It's just "a lead-entry-shortcut" - as you will notice, putting lead into campaign this way will result lead being in campaign related list,,,,

This field is only visible at the time of lead creation and it will display no where else. The campaign which you will choose in Lead at the time of creation, that lead will come as CampaignMember in that campaign.

Arun,

Campaign is not a field, it is a related list on the Lead page layout. Leads are associated to a Campaign via the Campaign Member object, which is a junction object. There is a many-to-many relationship between Leads and Campaigns, as one Lead can be associated to multiple Campaigns and one Campaign can have multiple Leads.

So in a nutshell, Campaigns is not a field, it is a related list on Leads and will be visible on the Lead Detail page.

Hope this helps!

Hi CloudKnight,

There is a Lookup field called "Campaign" in Lead object. Just check Lead Fields details via Setup.

Thanks,

Arunkumar

I understand that Arun. However, my explanation was more around the overall Lead-Campaign association.
