List of custom fields and their create dates

I am preparing to do a Schema change and I need to know how many fields have been created since the last Schema change in my organization.  I am looking for a way to create a list of all of my Custom fields and the dates they were created.  I am not concerned with the data in those fields, just the fields themselves.

Well you can access the fields either by doing describe from inside salesforce or using the Metadata API and I fear that both of them doesnt give you the created Date.

And the only way is the UI or alternatively you can go through the Audit trail logs and find out the relevant enteries(will be cumbersome),
