Removing Task and Event from Drop down of Sidebar Search

Hi,

 

I dont want some users to search on Tasks and Events. How can i remove Task and Event from Sidebar Search?

 

Please suggest.

Hi sushil.grover,

 

U cant do this with the standard functionality.

There is no option in salesforce to remove any event from side bar.

But u can achieve this by custom functionality like overidding the home page with a new visual force page.

Thanks Anil. I knew it but just wanted to confirm.

 

Can you please share the way to override home page? I dont see option in Customize - > Home?

 

Also how can i call standard search using that?

Hi sushil.grover,

 

What u need is to create a visual force tab with visual force page.

That u can use as home page.

You can go to Setup > Create > Tabs and create a new VisualForce tab with the VF page that you want to use as the home page.
