way to setup email alert when SFDC email is opened?

Is there a way to setup an email alert so we know immediatedly when a contact has opened our SFDC email? (versus runnin a report on HTML emails on the report page).

I'm looking for a way to do this, as well.  Some of our users have their Outlook set up to return Read receipts on all of their emails and are getting them for emails sent in Salesforce, but I don't want everyone to have to do that just to see when emails from Salesforce are read.
