when does the system API / Integration change one account owner to another owner

I have a issue that system Api / Integration changed the account owner to another owner . when does this happen . what would be the reason.

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean when performing a merge/convert via the API?

system Api / Integration is  user, owner of few accounts are changed , i digging into it , how it was changed. do any one have idea about it
