record types

Hi

Please help me in creating record types and how to assign to layouts and how to assign fields or whatever to particular record type.

Go to setup, then App Setup and expand customization. Expand the object that you wish to create an additional record type and click on "Record Type" and hit new. Once completed, create the new page layout by going to the layout section, once completed assign it on the page layout section by hitting "Page Layout Assignements"
