How to change label in field "record type"

Hi,

 

I want to ask is it possible to change the record type field's label in custom object? I can't edit the record type label in custom object nor in Rename Tabs and Labels.. Any suggestions would be great..

I think this is possible for standard object not for custom.

if you are talking about standard record type field on custom object then you cannot edit.

 

It is possible to edit record type labels that you add in the record type sections for both standard and custom objects .

If you just want to show this field on the page layout (user do not have access to change record type), then a work around would be to create a formula field 'My Custom Record Type Label' and referencing the record type field in this.

Actually user can change the record type just as standard record type field do.. Maybe it can't be done in custom object, thanks for the advice though.. I appreciate it..
