I also face similar problems as I have cretaed lots of custom objects. I have already promoted it and request other as well to promote this.

Fantastic Idea!  I voted it up as I too am frustrated with scrolling through a large list of custom objects just to find what you are looking for.  I would be great to have a filtered view so access can be found quickly.
