Price Book Price Change - Update Open Opportunities

Hi everyone,

We are in the process of changing the prices of our price books. We would like to update open opportunities to reflect the new amount of price books and leave our historical closed opportunities as they are.

What would be the best way to update our open opportunities? I was thinking of doing an import of Opportunity products just to update the existing opportunities.

Thanks in advance!

Do you need the new Price Book added in place of the old Price Book or do you just need to prices updated?

If the later, you can use the Data Loader to mass update the Opportunity Line Item prices.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've set up some test cases in my sandbox and made changes to my pricebooks.

Now, when I'm looking at a product on an open opportunity, I see:

1. My new price under current list price

2. The old price under original sales price

3. Total original price reflects old total price

4. Amount reflects reflects total original price

I updated "UNIT PRICE" on all open opps and this solced my issue.

Thanks for the help!
