Custom User Fields

How to create Custome User Fields in SalesForce that are used in Approval process as 'Next Automated Approver Determined By'?

Hi,

  1. Select the Object on which you want to create aproval process.
  2. Create New field of type Lookup and Select User as ObjectType.
  3. While defining Approval process, you will get option to decide the next approver, in that screen select the newly created field.

Hi

 

I have added a Custom field (Requested_By) to my custom object, defined as a lookup to User but it still does not appear in teh drop down list for 'Next Automated Approver Determined By'. 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated
