custom Link not behaving properly

Need your help to resolve one of issue facing by our client

Issue:
custom Links "Create Sales Order" on Opportunity does not return field value .

Description:
In that custom link we have defined field as .customerid={!Account.customFieldID__c}, it does not return value for this field. Interestingly it works without any issue for other Opportunities for same Account

note: This case is happening only with an Opportunity

Please can you let us know what could be reason for this issue?
