Help! Can't see record in New Page Layout

hi -

I just created a new app and have selected it. I have a page layout, assigned to that Record type, but I'm not seeing the record in the new record type layout.


I know I've done this before - I don't know what I forgot to do!

Just check wether u have enable the record type for all profiles.

I am not sure what you mean by "enable the record type for all profiles"

 

I did Page Layout Assignment for the Record Type, and for the profiles that will use it:  The user (AFC Director) and the System Administrator (me).

 

I created a Page Layout (AFC) and an App (AFC).  When I select the App AFC and view a client, I see another page layout - NOT the AFC that I need to see.

 

What am I doing wrong or forgetting?

I just created a new client and it is giving me the proper layout.


If I already have a client created in Layout A in Application A, by changing the applicaiton to App B, will the layout change to the one associated with Application B? 

 

Or is the layout attached to the record?

 

How can I change the layout on an existing record?

hi,

 

you can change the layout by clicking the edit layout on the detail page.

Until u change the layout the old layout will apper for those records.

I've done that many times.  I still see the same layout.  What am I doing wrong?

 

I go into the record.

Click "Edit Layout" in the upper right of the page.


Change the layout in the Drop Down on the top left.

 

Click "Save".  [When I click "save" it says "Saving Layout", not saving the record???]

 

No change - same layout appears as before.


This is frustrating!

Since the Record type was never displayed, I never saw that option.
