Hard coding?

can anybody explain what is by Hard coding..?

instead of saying that a formula should take what ever value is in a field you say the value. simple example is working out weekly salary 5 (days) x 20 (daily pay) = 100 but if any valu eever changes you have to go re-write code. So you would code it as days x daily pay then whatever value is in there works
