How to use RSS Feed in Force.com Sites?

Hi Friends,

 

I have to use the RSS Feed in Force.com Site which we developed for our client. I need to know the information about RSS Feed.

 

- What is RSS Feed?

- Why it is used in Force.com Sites?

- How to use this in Saleforce.com developed Sites?

 

I need information on this, how to use the RSS Feed in sites. Please help me in this.

1)What is RSS Feed?

RSS Feed - RSS is (Rich Site Summary) or RDF Site Summary. Resource Description Framework(RDF) Site Summary.It is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. 


2) Why it is used in Force.com Sites?

Force.com Sites can easily generate Atom syndication feeds based on SOQL queries. For this web syndication feeds, RSS is using in Force.com Sites.

 

3)How to use this in Saleforce.com developed Sites?
