Queue is something about common place where the any member of the queue can accept the cases.
for example if you have a requirement like whenever the case is created it should not be assigned to particular Agent. anyone who is free can take the case and work, you can Queue instead of assigning user as owner of the case.
In salesforce Queue is available for two objects [Lead & Case]
