Translation Workbench not translating button

Trying to translate a button on a custom object, but it doesn't seem to be taking. I'm a system admin and set myself up as a translator. Any ideas what I should check to get this to work? I tried a 2nd button the same object as a test, but that one didn't translate either.

Additional info: When I edit the page layout I can see the translation, but when viewing the page it's not translated

Jem57,

I believe you must have done this already, but in case you haven't.....my checklist would be as follows:

1. Set up-> Translation Workbench -> Translation Settings -> Enable

2. Verify your Org is not Single Language Org(If we don't know it already, we can inquire Salesforce)

3. Make sure the 'Package', 'Set up Component' , and 'Object' has been chosen as intended.

Hi. Yes, translation workbench is setup, I have other translations working. I have the correct object & component selected. When I edit the page layout, I see the translation, but when looking at the record the translation doesn't show.

Turns out there was a custom setting preventing this from updating.

That's interesting!!

Just out of curiosity, how did you deduce it?? Were there any error messages?

Thanks!!
