test drive: can we use DE org to do it?

I think it is simpler to create a eval user in the DE org to do test drive, why is a test org needed?

I mean ,what type of test org you are speaking about.You test yours application in DE org But in terms of users point of view it is limited.

I mean the test drive when we list the app on appexchange.

 

I tried to set the test org to my DE org on appexchange test drive, but it did not work.
