New User Question -- postal code problems

I have postal codes going into a text box and it keeps adding ".0000" to the end of all of the numeric codes. How do I stop this and have it be only whole numbers or alpha-numeric characters?

Sounds like you are using a Number field, change the field type to Text.

It is set to Text field. That's why i don't understand why it is adding the decimal and zeros after the number.
