Clear pending time-based workflow actions from Leads?

Hello.  Is there any way in Apex to drop pending workflow actions on a Lead so that it can be converted?  The workflow actions are time-based email reminders.

The only thing I can think of is to modify the Lead in some way that invalidates the workflow rules.  That should remove the Lead from the workflow queue and allow you to convert it.
