Recruiting Appexchange - import candidate list

We are going to start using the Appexchange Recruiter but I want to import our current candidate list (in excel) into SFDC, but unsure how? I only see how to import into the Sales side of things but not into these Appexchange add-ins?

you can use the Import Custom Objects

feature in the Data management area of the
Administration Setup

this should work for custom objects , after you install the app in question.
not sure if this will populate lookup fields, but should get basic data into an app.
