Mass create custom lead fields from existing custom contact fields

We have about 100 custom contact fields that I would like to have as available lead fields in order to create a web-to-lead form.  Seems like there should be a way to copy the existing custom fields to make them available as custom lead fields without having to recreate each one individually, but I can't see how.  Any advice?

Your instincts are correct - you need to create them on the object.

Since I've had to do much of this kind of thing, I find it easiest to work with two open windows, copying and

matching for formats, etc.
