ActivityDate > Created Date Formula

Hi,
 
I have a simple issue that I need to ensure that my sales reps are planning their activities in advance.
 
I thought that by checking the ActivityDate > Created date of the event record would be ideal, but I can't seem to access the ActivityDate in the formula section?
 
Any ideas for a solution?

Currently the ActivityDate field is both a Date and a Date/Time field. This prevents it from being allowed in any formulas. You can vote for this feature here.

Think I have found a workaround.
 
I added a workflow rule to run on (Event: Date greater than TODAY) only when the record is created.
 
This rule performs an update of my checkbox field.
