Find accounts without a future activity

Our reps schedule a future activity with the accounts they are working with. Sometimes they will forget to schedule a followup and they loose sight of the account and forget to follow up.
 
Do you know of a way to find accounts that do not have a future activity?
 
I now have a manual weekly audit using an export and excel spreadsheet.

If you don't mind going away from Activities, and instead create a custom object in which they will log their future meetings/activities, you could put a formula field on the Custom Object that looks at the date of the scheduled activity and returns a 1 if it is in the future, and a 0 if it is in the past. Then, you would put a Roll-Up summary on the Account Record that adds up all of the related records, and if the value is greater than 0 there is a future activity planned, else someone needs to be reminded to make one...
