Custom Summary Formulas: Sorting

Is it possible to create a custom summary formula and then sort the results?

Could you be a little more specific about the information that is being summarized (Data Type, Source Object, Source Field, Filters, etc.)?

I have a report that shows clients and their existing contracts. each client can have multiple contracts. each contract will have a current revenue amount. when my report runs and i group by Acct, i do get the total of all their contracts. Now i want to sort those totals in decending order. the sort by header only sorts the individual revenue amounts within the grouped account. I'd like to sort the subtotals, if you will, so i can see which account i have the most revenue with. The gouping has to be by Acct.

 

I thought that maybe a customized field could be used for this.
