wsdl to apex error

Can anybody tell me the reason behind the error

"Apex Generation FailedUnable to find schema for element; {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string"

and what is the solution for this.

while saving in to apex you have to remove the extra bindings in the WSDL.. did u do this?
