field level Security through Apex

Hi All

 

Is it Possible to do Field Level Security through Apex?

It requires using the Metadata API, which is inherently asynchronous... it's unlikely that you can get it to work correctly in pure Apex Code. However, it would be feasible in a Visualforce page. What's your use case?
