Exponential for currency in visualforce email template

when i was trying to display the currency in visualforce email template its showing me like 1.5E+7(exponential).

can anyone explain me how to overcome this pls ASAP

I am also looking for this solution with one addition, it needs to work in the subject attribute of the opening <messaging: tag

 

<messaging:emailTemplate subject="{!properlyFormattedCurrency}">
blah blah
</messaging:emailTemplate>
